Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Sejal Learning Systems (“Sejal Learn,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use the sejal-learn.com website, our courses, memberships, certificates, AI learning companion, and related services (the “Services”). It also explains the choices and rights you have. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
The short version: we collect what we need to run a learning platform — your account details, your course activity, and your payment status. We use it to deliver your courses, track your progress, issue your certificates, and improve the Services. We share it with the service providers who help us operate. We do not sell your personal data.

1. What Data We Collect
1.1 Data You Provide to Us
Depending on how you use the Services, we collect:
- Account data — name or username, email address, and password when you register.
- Profile data — any optional details you add, such as a photo or bio.
- Payment data — when you buy a membership or program, our payment processor collects your payment details. We do not store your full card number; we keep records of your purchases, subscription status, and billing history.
- Content you submit — course reviews, discussion posts, assignment submissions, and messages you send to support.
- AI companion conversations — the prompts and questions you send to our AI learning companion and the responses you receive.
- Communications — emails and messages you exchange with us, including support requests.
1.2 Data We Collect Automatically
- Learning activity — courses you enroll in, lessons you view, quiz and assessment results, completion status, and certificates earned. These learning records are stored in our learning record store so we can track your progress, issue certificates, and show you (and, where applicable, our instructors and administrators) meaningful learning analytics.
- Usage and device data — IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, referring pages, and timestamps, collected through server logs and cookies.
- Approximate location — derived from your IP address, used for things like tax calculation, security, and localization. We do not collect precise GPS location.
1.3 Data From Third Parties
We receive limited data from the providers that help us run the Services — for example, payment confirmation from our payment processor and delivery status from our email provider. If you enroll through a partner or promotional program, the partner may share your enrollment details with us so we can provision your access.
2. Cookies & Similar Technologies
Like most online services, we use cookies and similar technologies to make the Services work and to understand how they're used:
- Essential cookies — keep you logged in, remember your session, and protect against fraud. The Services don't work without them.
- Functional cookies — remember preferences such as course progress position and interface settings.
- Analytics cookies — help us understand which pages and courses are used so we can improve the platform.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking essential cookies will prevent core features like login from working. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers, and we honor the removal of non-essential cookies wherever practical.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- provide the Services — create and manage your account, deliver courses, save your progress, and issue certificates;
- process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent fraud;
- power AI features — your prompts are processed to generate responses and feedback within your courses;
- personalize your experience, such as recommending courses and tracks;
- respond to your questions and provide learner support;
- send service communications (receipts, renewal notices, security alerts) and, with your consent or as permitted by law, marketing emails you can opt out of at any time;
- analyze and improve the Services, using aggregated or de-identified data wherever possible;
- enforce our Terms of Service, comply with legal obligations, and protect the safety of our learners and platform.
4. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising. We share data only as follows:
- Service providers — companies that process data on our behalf under contract, including cloud hosting (Microsoft Azure), payment processing, email delivery, AI processing for the learning companion (Azure OpenAI Service — your conversations are not used to train third-party foundation models), and our learning record store. They may use your data only to provide services to us.
- The Sejal Learning Systems family — Sejal Learn is part of a network of affiliated learning sites (the Sejal Solutions constellation). If you use more than one of our academies, your account may operate across them under common ownership and consistent with this policy.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our learners, our company, or the public.
- Business transfers — if we're involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction; we'll notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal data.
- With your direction — for example, when you choose to share a certificate publicly or post a review visible to other learners.
5. Security
We take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hardened server configurations, access controls, and monitoring against unauthorized access. No system is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password and let us know immediately at info@sejal-learn.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
6. Your Rights & Choices
6.1 Access, Update, Delete
You can view and update most of your account information from your profile settings. You may also request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing info@sejal-learn.com. We'll respond within a reasonable timeframe and honor your request except where we must keep certain records (for example, purchase records for tax purposes, or certificate issuance records to preserve their verifiability).
6.2 Marketing Choices
You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing message or by contacting us. You'll still receive essential service emails, such as receipts and security notices.
6.3 Jurisdiction-Specific Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California, the EEA, or the UK), you may have additional rights, such as data portability, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We honor valid requests to exercise these rights regardless of jurisdiction — contact us and we'll help.
7. Children
Sejal Learn is a professional and personal development platform for adults and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16, and learners under 18 may use the platform only under a parent or guardian's account and supervision as described in our Terms of Service. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it. For K-12 learners, our sister academy The VR School offers age-appropriate accredited programs.
8. International Users
The Services are operated from the United States, and your data is processed and stored on servers located in the United States. If you use the Services from outside the U.S., you understand that your data will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Data Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. After you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain it to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting rules), resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or maintain the integrity of issued certificates. Aggregated, de-identified learning analytics that no longer identify you may be retained for research and product improvement.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we'll notify you by email or by a prominent notice on the site before the change takes effect. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you when this policy was last revised. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
